Hi guys!
It’s been quite an interesting month to say the least. Jewish holidays back to back, with very little breaks in between has made us all crazy and backed up at work.
Table setting, food, laugh, sleep repeat!
Nevertheless, in light of all the craziness I still manage to find inspiration in my surroundings.
Holiday time is usually spent around the table with loved ones, and what better time is there to look for some beauty than when your eating right??
I love table scapes and how creative you can get in these holidays that fall (no pun intended!) around this time of year.
Setting the table in the Fall is awesome; natural color palettes are such a joy to see and blend so merrily with warm home cooking. The best part is you don’t have to spend a fortune to have an expensive looking table! You can even turn table setting into a kids activity, if you are too busy in the kitchen, by having the little ones run outdoors to hunt for some decorative finds.
Some easy tips for transitioning your summer tables to fall holiday fun are as simple as adding in some seasonal fruits and veggies as centerpieces. You can even go outside and grab some color turning leaves as placemats or extra table throws. My advice is to keep dishes and silverware simple; keep your china white and your utensils can be a mix of metals or just one. You can always mix metals with serving dishes or table accents to bring out more of the richer tones in your foods and floral arrangements.
Little hint! Gold goes effortlessly with fall colors.
I love to pick a theme or piece of focus to work around when planning table scapes. It makes it easier to follow a color palette or general idea. Even if your dishes and utensils are simple, you can add in a stunning runner or bold napkins to kick up your game. Floral arrangements or produce centerpieces should be your main focus, everything else just emphasizes them!
Most important tip; HAVE FUN!
Food is about coming together and spending time with family and friends…being on a pretty table just makes it feel better 😉
